Tony Snow Dies At 53 | Former Bush Spokesman

Former FOX News commentator and former White House press secretary Tony Snow has died of colon cancer at the age of 53.

Snow replaced Scott McClellan as President Bush's spokesman in May 2006. He had just left his positions as a Fox News Channel and News Radio broadcaster.

After serving just 18 months as a press secretary Snow resigned as press secretary citing a need to earn more money for his family. Six months later it was announced that his cancer was no longer in remission.

However, in September 2007 Snow joined CNN as a conservative commentator.
Snow brought partisan zeal and the skills of a seasoned performer to the task of explaining and defending the president's policies. He was popular at the White House and beyond for cheerfully sparring with reporters.~ap
